Xuzhou's textile and apparel exports broke through the $100 million mark for the first time

According to statistics from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, from January to August, the city’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$111 million, marking the first time to exceed the US$100 million mark, which was a year-on-year increase of 42.4%, becoming the fifth year of the city’s export of billions of dollars of commodities.

The city's textile and garment industry exports mainly clothing exports. From January to August, apparel exports reached US$73.576 million, which was a year-on-year increase of 26.1%, accounting for 67.9% of total textile and apparel exports, and textile exports of US$35.623 million, a year-on-year increase of 96%, accounting for 32.1%. The export products are mainly medical plastic gloves, printed plain cloth, cotton baby clothes and so on. Japan, the United States, and France were the major markets for textile and apparel exports in the city, with exports of US$29.484 million, US$27.272 million, and US$7.62 million, respectively, which represented a year-on-year increase of 42%, 11.2%, and 24.8%, respectively. Xuzhou Fushan Medical Products Co., Ltd., Xuzhou Xinliyuan Printing Co., Ltd. and Xuzhou Tianhong Times Textile Co., Ltd. are major textile and garment exporters in the city, of which Fushan Medical Products Co., Ltd. exported US$36.147 million, an increase of 44.6% year-on-year.
